I made it to the sewing room this week for a little bit. I managed to get this BIG block done.
I also made these as LE while making the big block above.
These aren't finished into their final blocks yet, almost. Then I did a few more HST LE too. But they aren't PINK> I am linking up over at Angela's blog for Rainbow Scrap Challenge Scrap Happy Saturday - PINK. Next week, work on some of my PINK dear jane blocks, and maybe a few other projects too.
While surfing all my blogs I came across Leila's blog, she is hosting her very first linky party about where do you sew. So I am linking up with Leila over at Sewn about Where do I sew. I have posted pics in the past of my sewing room, I took some more up to date ones, ( they room is still trashed ) But here they are real and raw, unedited ( except for size )
Standing in the doorway this is what you see.
Then if you enter and look left you will see the ironing board with my squares and strips bins, easy street, a mystery for the guild and my pink scraps container piled all over the left half of the board.
Then my sewing table ( which I cleaned off last week) has some paper piecing pattern pieces on it I copied this week, Orca bay still not finished, and the HST's I am using as LE piled in the corner.
Then the cutting table, piled with ALL KINDS of crapola!
Behind the cutting table the shelf unit that holds all my books on top, and then misc fabric and projects. I have cubbies filled with fleece, minky, velours, flannels. Anything that isn't cotton. About 10 UFO's are in these cubbies too.
Moving to the far wall next to the cutting table is the warm half of the stash. See no more room for new fabric, I even had to cram some yellow on top of the pink and reds. There is a little bit of room on the bottom shelf, waiting for the Jason Yenter box that I prepaid for back in September I think. It should be here Feb or Mar I believe.
Then on the other side of the window is the cooler side of the rainbow. All the whites and off whites, grays, white on blacks, black on whites, blacks, Christmas and neutrals for Bonnie's quilts, that I just want out of the stash. Then there is that HUGE pile of jeans still. Need to get back to de-boning those.
Then in front of that shelf is the catch ALL table. It has quilt kits on it, fabric piles for WIP's, UFO's FQ's that some was cut off of it, but since the project isn't finished, I haven't made them disappear into the strip and squares buckets yet. There are quilt tops needing quilt backs, stacks of printouts, magazines.....etc!!!! Looking at this pic, my portable design wall is behind it on the left, and a chair stacked high with quilts waiting to be quilted on the right. Then behind those two, is a wall with little shelves filled with crafting supplies that never get used anymore. This whole area needs to be cleaned out, because I am goin to move all my husbands geocaching supplies here, so I can get more sewing done. This was while I am sewing he can be putting together more caches to go hide them on the weekends. guess he is goin to have to get used to another flight of stairs!
Then next to that, or looking right as you enter the room and looking behind the door...........the biggest mess of all. In the corner is all the yarn ( that might be where all the crochet hooks and knitting needles are too, just can't get back there to look) A bookshelf full of scrapbooking supplies, which is being relocated to the other room next door. I see 2 huge boxes that need to go to the trash. I know there is a HUGE pile of batting scraps under those boxes, ,I moved all the scrap boxes off my sewing table to this pile. Who knows what else I might find under all this Crapola when I clean it out to move hubby into my room. All the scrapbooking and crafting things will be put in the other room, as soon as I finish getting the girls stuff out. The other room also holds the long arm that my strings quilt is loaded on right now.
Well that is a tour of my disaster right now. Do you want to share yours now that I made you feel better about yours??? Link up with Leila and let us tour your space.
When you are blessed with two HUGE rooms for all your creativity space turned storage space, and then it is time to organize it all once and for all. It is hard to do it when both rooms are filled. So until my oldest one moves, and the youngest ships out to bootcamp and gets to her duty station to have all her stuff shipped, I am at a standstill. But as soon as the oldest gets moved into her new place I can take the last load of her stuff to her, and I will ship all the youngests stuff when they come to get her and her husbands stuff. Then half the house will be empty. I will have LOTS of space to get this area all cleaned up. Because I hate it all messy like this, it crams my thinking. Then maybe I will also remove all the carpet up here in my space and put in wood floors. I forgot to take a picture of my sprinkles all over the floor. A couple thousand rabbit ears that missed the trash can!!!
Have a great weekend, it is in the high 70's maybe low 80's and very HUMID here in Florida right now, urgh, I want winter back, it is only January! I see the sun coming up so I will be outside as much as possible today, I hope the battery in the motorcycles are charged up. I think I need to go for a ride today.

Beautiful block, love all the different pinks you used and it is fun to see your sewing room. Looks like a perfect room to create in!
Really pretty block! I'm jealous of all the fabric you have in your sewing room! My husband thinks I have a problem because I'm always wanting to buy fabric, especially if you see a great closeout deal. He thinks I am more a Collector of fabric than a Quilter! LOL
Great looking block. Looks like you will never have to shop for fabric again! I love the shelves just stacked full of so many projects in waiting. Hope you get it all situated just the way you want it some day 'cause it looks like an awesome space.
Love your blocks and your sewing room.
weyhey! I am officially jealous! all that space and fabric. Looks great.

Wow, what a huge room-great for creating!
Your big pink block is very pretty. I love all of the space you have for quilting and creating. The more 'work' I do in my sewing room the messier it gets.

Ann Marie, Your pink block is fabulous and what a wonderful sewing room. One question, what is a HST?
Great scrap block. Your room lots great. What I liked the most was the catch all table piled high. I do that too. I am happy to see others are mess too. Love the tidy fabric stacks.
