Super Sewing Sunday 08-28-11

I didn't get too much sewing done today, that could be because I am a little sore from using a jack hammer the past two days. Even though it wasn't long, and it was the little jack hammer drill, it makes your whole body hurt, and your hands too! Plus I mowed the yards in extreme heat conditions today too.

Right now I am working on the Garden Fence QAL. I had to wait because I didn't have the fabric I needed for the sashing. DD #1 bought it for me for my birthday, and she finally gave it to me last Saturday, not yesterday. (DD #2 bought me 2 flower GO! dies I needed :D) So I slowly starting cutting the pieces out this week, here are the first two sets waiting to go...........

Here is the first set all chained pieced and waiting to be pressed.
Second set is waiting it's turn........
Here is the first set done, just hanging around waiting for them all to be done so they can be paired up and finished.
Ok here are the first 3 sets all piled and waiting....................

I counted how many blocks I had...........I need a total of 100 and I knew I didn't have that many cut so far. So back to the cutting table I go. Here are the last 2 sets, I just don't have it in me to keep sewing the same thing over and over........that boredom thing is kicking in!

This last picture is a few of the fabrics on the design wall before I cut the last two sets. I was checking for light/dark values to see if I had more of one than the other, especially the darks since I was using chocolate for the sashing. I believe there are 23 different fabrics in this quilt including the sashing.

Hopefully I will finish the last two sets tomorrow. So then I can start pairing them all up and try not to duplicate any blocks. There will be 3 of the same fabric centers for blocks for 9 of the fabrics and 6 of the same fabric centers for blocks using the other 12 fabrics and there is one fabric there is only enough fabric for 1, and I got that out of the scrap basket. The same for the outer rings, and I want to make sure I don't pair any with the same ones. Plus there is 4 or 5 with polka dots, a few with swirls, and I want them all mixed up. Shouldn't be too hard, but I also want to keep the value even too. Hopefully I will have the top done next week when I do my weekly report.

Are you working on anything exciting right now??? I am also going to finish the last 2 blocks of BAP this upcoming week (thought they were all done) so I can start playing with the GO! and the flower garden I am putting in the middle of it!!!!!

Such pretty colors! Can't believe you got all that done. So funny that the last 2 blocks can seem like to much after the first 98.
