Christmas and My 2012 goals

It is that time of the year to make my goal list........should have done it weeks ago. But I was a little busy. Let's start today by seeing what I got for Christmas....

I had emailed my husband a year ago telling him I wanted these books by Jason Yenter, I LOVE his fabrics, even though I don't own ANY of it yet. I forgot all about that email. My husband finally did find the books but he said most places he saw them were asking outrageous amount of money for them. He asked why? Duh...
My daughter got me these two glorious fat quarter packs.:D I want to make a rainbow batik quilt, and have been collecting lots of packs like these to go with it. Then she got me a teal and chocolate pack. Because I had been making that turquoise and chocolate quilt earlier on AND she liked them. Now I need to buy more, so I can make her a quilt from them.

Hubby also got me these two fat quarter rolls, the pic above shows the smaller one unrolled. They have metallic sparkles in them too. Need to buy more now.:D
He also picked up this package of animal print fabrics too....don't know what I will do with those quite yet. Then he went to the LQS and bought me this pattern and quilt bundle. I was a little confused at first because when we were at the shop a few weeks earlier he looked at that quilt and said it looks like they screwed it up because the circles weren't finished........then he bought me THAT pattern and kit. So I asked him why? His response was he couldn't afford the one he wanted and the one he knew I would love, so he picked one he could afford by the colors of the fabrics. Gotta love that man! So I guess I will name this quilt the "Screwed up Sunbursts" LOL

OK now what do I need to do in 2012.............

I have this little one started, it is placemat size now. I don't know how big it will get, because the fabric I have is limited. I will sew till I run out of fabric.
Blogger has flipped this photo.....don't know why but these 6 above need backs made for them. The tops are done.
These 7 above are awaiting quilting, the top 3 are sandwiched and pinned and ready to go already.
These 6 tops are at least 75% done. Lets see jacobs ladder on top all blocks done needing to be pieced., red white blue needs the blocks pieced, rockin row robin needs another row added, sunkissed flower garden needs flowers stitched down then the blocks added to the center flower garden, twister needs to 3 of 4 sections twisted and then the 4 pieces sewn together, and the dragon quilt, needs all the pieces stitched down too.
OH lordy............this shelf holds at least another 7 quilts only one of which I touched in 2011 and that is way in the back the turquoise and chocolate one, I have 4 of the 10 rows put together. Then I have a the butterfly kaleidoscope one, a giraffe one, a pickle one, a drunkards path one, a colorful one and then my pink and purple twisted lone star one too.
Then there are these two.........the raven stars and the turquoise and white one
and this mess is my Orca Bay.......doesn't quite look like everyone else's does it??? I am WAAAAAY behind!

On the right side of my blog I have lots of other blogs to help me finish these up. I want them all in the waiting to be quilted pile at least. Which reminds me, I need to drop one off at the long armers today, and then mail payment for another one to get it mailed back to me. I am not going to number mine, but I am going to be more strict with myself in getting at least one done a month. I kinda slacked on that part last year.

I am keeping the same resolution as last year, shop the stash first, and use lots of scraps too. I will have to take pictures of the stash, I think I used at least 1/4-1/3 of it last year....I can see a difference in the shelves. Seems the more stash I use the more scraps I create. It never ends! I also got a gift certificate for the LQS so I am headed there today to fill in the gaps. I am going to requset Bonnie Hunters books this year to help with my scrappy problem and check out some more scrappy books at the LQS today as well.

Hopefully I will be able to blog a little more now that the holidays are over, just wish I had my own computer fixed. What normally would have taken me 5 minutes on my computer to get the photos from my camera, cropped and onto this blog took me over an hour on my husbands computer, and a lot of patience not to throw this thing across the room. Maybe while I am out I will just buy another computer too. Wonder how mad hubby will be????? I will just tell him, it could have been fabric instead then maybe he won't be so mad at me. We have been looking, but neither of us wants to spend the money right now.

Looks like you received some wonderful Christmas gifts!! I also recieved 2 gift certificates for my LQS and I have decided to buy backing fabric for some of my finished quilt tops. You're very brave to photograph your UFO's. I think I'm afraid to photo mine - does it make them "real"? I also need to be more strict with my UFO list this year. I wish us both luck!

Good luck in 2012! I have the same issue with tops done ready to quilt, some with no backing, projects started, and yet all I can think of is the next new project :)

Oh, I'm so happy to see someone's quilting room that looks a little like mine! I'd love to be super-organized, but I have time to do that, or quilt - and guess which one wins out? That said, you lucked out and got lots of beautiful Christmas gifts; you have an incredible amount of work ahead of you in the next year; and you are way ahead of me on Orca Bay! Never fear, you'll get there! Whoop whoop!!
