A little sewing

Well I did get a little sewing done this week. Not the sewing I NEEDED to get done.  But the machine was on and it was busy stitching out bobbin after bobbin. I emptied all that was in the donut, and had to wind some more. First I was busy with all these blocks
Then I got busy making these

Sew them together to make these
Which once in the quilt will go with the ones in pink I made last year.
Does anyone know what pattern I am making???

Then I saw this video with the Missouri Star Co on the disappearing pinwheel block, so off I went. I whipped these two out in no time.

When I get them quilted, they will be handed over for the Wounded Warrior project we have going. Need 80 quilts before April 15th. They are only approx 36 X 48 so they don't take too long to make.

Those two quilts right now are hanging on the frame covering the quilt I NEEDED to be sewing on so I can get it quilted and given to its owner. I want that quilt done and out of my house. It is holding me back, and I feel guilty when I am sewing other things.

This was a crazy week in Florida, 5 degrees with the windchill and a nasty ice storm that closed the south down. My truck had over a 1/2 inch of ice on it and we couldn't get the door open. After hubby grilled steaks the 2nd day they were froze over, he put the grill next to the drivers door for about 45 minutes, it melted and softened enough of the ice, that he was able to pry it off and get the door open, so he started the truck and let it run for a good 30 minutes to defrost all the rest of the ice off of it. We just don't have the Salt, or the trucks down here for this kind of crazy. But the good news is, unlike the north where it stays cold for months, it will be in the 70's tomorrow. Good thing, because one of our heat units had something break on it, so it is burn lots of wood in the wood stove, or freeze your butt off down stairs on the main floor. Today I was glad to go to my sewing room, turn up the heat, turn on the iron and where your jacket till you start knocking all those tiny 4 patch pieces on the floor. Then jacket off, and a few minutes later knock the thermostat back down so the heat quits pumping, because now your really hot. Now I am back on the ground floor writing up this post, wishing I wouldn't have left my jacket on the 3rd floor hanging on the back of the chair, brrrr it is cold down here. But tomorrow it will be in the 70's, I just keep telling myself, wait for tomorrow. I will have to open the windows to warm it up inside. LOL! Crazy Florida weather, the only place I know of that you have to use heat, and air conditioning in the same week.

Anything exciting that you have been working on lately? How is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Love the look of the pink and blue blocks. Great combination.
Good luck with the disappearing pinwheel block. I found them quite addictive.
Good luck getting that quilt quilted that has to be done!!

It is really winter here, in frozen solid southern ontario. 7 degrees F right now, and the snow at the end of our driveway is taller than I am. I am so ready for it to be done..... But it gives lots of time for fun sewing and fun blog surfing. And I'll add my guess, and also say that it looks like a bowdacious.

Wow - you did get a bunch done. I'm a little farther south and we got lots of rain today. Hope you get your quilt finished and off to it's owner.

I'm with Heather, my first thought was bodacious too. Good luck with the deadlines. They always take away the fun from the ones you want to be working on instead. It has been a crazy winter, hope the spring is more sane.
