Did you get what you wanted for Valentine's Day??

I got everything I wanted! All I wanted this year was for my dear husbands surgery to go well, have good news come out of it, and for him to be home healing. I got it all!!!! Woo hoo....what did you get? Anything exciting that you would like to share?

I have noticed it has been more than a week since my last post, pre-surgery, that is. Well a lot has happened since then. Hubbies surgery was the 7th I was at the hospital the whole day, then when I got home, I crashed for 12 hours, only had 3 hours the night before. Then I was at the hospital most of the time all week long, he finally got to come home on Friday. I did get some power sewing done though a few late nights after I got home.

For the Rainbow Scrap Challenge I took a pile of red fat quarters and dug through the red scrap basket, grabbed my pile of whites, and made this red and white quilt top. Needs one more round of borders on it, which are cut and waiting to be sewn on. Haven't decided what I am going to do for the back of it yet. Last month was blue, and I didn't get anything done with blue, so I made sure I did red this time around.

I did my layer cake block #8 here

My BAP block 5 is on hold, need some solid green. So I haven't started block # 6 or #7 either. Wow I am getting behind on those.

Remember all those purple circles, well here is a pile of 100+ yo-yo's that I stitched up while sitting with my dear hubbie in the hospital I only have about 10 more of that size to go, then about 20 bigger ones, then I will put them all together so you can see what I have made out of those. I know now why I don't do much hand stitching, by Friday, my hand was killing me making all those that week.

I still haven't bought any fabric for the Fabric Diet or the No Fab Feb that I am doing.
For the Frugal Grocery challenge I only spent $20.86 up until Friday, then dear hubbie came home and wanted special meals, which needed stuff I didn't already have here at the house, so we went shopping....$151.27 worth, which also included two ink cartridges for the printer which was $31.97 before tax I believe. I threw the receipt away yesterday.

Still haven't done my Dorinda Mystery block, but I do think I know what I am going to do for it finally.

I am still pecking away at my RRCB, it is moving to the front of the sewing pile, now that the red n white one is done. Because I am tired of looking at it in pieces, and I want to put it in my needs-to-be-quilted pile. Which is growing.

Raven stars started last Wednesday, next clue tomorrow.......I still haven't quite come to a conclusion on which colors I want to do mine in. Decisions should not be this hard.....

I have just under 2 weeks left to quilt and bind one of my scrappy quilts to enter it into the Scrap Quilt Challenge, almost forgot about that one. Looks like I will be quilting instead of piecing, very, very soon.

Well I cleaned out my machine today, because I have emptied at least 4 big spools of thread in the past 6 weeks and it was starting to make a few noises. I wanted it cleaned before I started to quilt a quilt and then have something go wrong. This is what I found! No wonder it was making noises!!! I also fixed the problem of my needle being one little click to the left of where it should have been too, by accident!

As always I had my two helpers who usually follow me to the third floor where my sewing room is, but today they were already waiting for me when I got up there. How did they know I would show up??? Here are Jethro, and Ely Mae guarding my room.

I know there is something else I need to write about, but I can't quite put it on the ends of my fingers and have the words show up on here.....It will come to me soon after I post this post, I just know it will.

Love your red and white quilt for the challenge. You are doing like I am. I finished my red scrap challenge quilt top and now I'm going back to whittle away at RRCB some more.

First, I'm so happy to hear that things went well for your husband's surgery and that you have been able to recoop. I'm actually quite surprised that you've accomplished so much with all of that going on! It makes me breathless reading it all....

Get well soon to your hubby. Lovely quilt with the red fabric. Someday I may get up the nerve to publish the lint that I pull out of my machine, but not any time soon!
