January is over already???

Whoa.......where did this month go already? I can not believe tomorrow is the first of February already.

Well it is that link it up time again over at Patchwork times. Well I had set goals for January:

My goal for January is:

1. Get the Christmas strings quilt, quilted and bound.
2. Get the quilts for kids quilt, quilted, bound and mailed.
3. Get the wounded warrior quilt bound and mailed.
4. Get the mono yellow quilt bound.

January: All I can say is for that list. Failed, Failed, Failed, Failed. WOW. I kept saying, I will get it done in a few days..........well 31 of those days have flown on by.
I did do lots of sewing though during the month, so I don't feel like I failed. But I am going to put that same list up for February, I know BORING right?
I almost have all the HST L&E's done so then that corner of the table will be clear, and as soon as that happens I AM going on a binding frenzy. I have the rest of the table cleared and waiting.

Now that the pink is almost done, it is time for purple I believe. That scrap basket is already been purged, so  it will be quicker to make all my blocks and move on to other things.

Goal setting

I did a lot of goal setting last year, and most of those goals went undone too. Too many things going on and not enough sewing to make a dent in any of the goals. I am going to try harder this year, and get some goals finished. I am linking up to Judy's at Patchwork Times and TraceyJay too for Just 3 as soon as the linky goes live.

My goal for January is:

1. Get the Christmas strings quilt, quilted and bound.
2. Get the quilts for kids quilt, quilted, bound and mailed.
3. Get the wounded warrior quilt bound and mailed.
4. Get the mono yellow quilt bound.

I am also not going to allow myself to start a new project until I finish at least 2 as well. This way I will be going in the right direction. The direction to almost completion of all projects. All quilty projects have 4 stages, blocks being pieced, blocks being sewn together to make a flimsy, quilting, binding. As long as my projects are being moved up, I feel good about moving in the right direction. I don't have too many in stage 1, quite a few in stage 2, LOTS in stage 3 waiting, and a pile in stage 4 waiting. Now to just find the time and the mojo to push them..............

Just 3 December

Ok so for November, I did get my wounder warrior one quilted, finally!!! Am I happy with the job, nope, not at all, but I am not re-doing it. so it just needs to be bound now.

Got all my red white and black blocks done, and swapped. Haven't figured out what to do with them yet.

My Christmas string quilt has the last borders on it finally, and it is hanging on the long arm. Haven't made up my mind if it is the next one to get quilted or not.

My pink n orange top is finished. Need to buy the fabric for the back( I don't have hardly any fabric leftover) I know what fabric I want, just waiting to go get it with a coupon or on sale.

Turtle Bay came back from Amy's she did a fantastic job quilting it for me. It needs binding, but I can't find the binding I had. It is either buried on a table I am not going to touch yet, or I cut it up into strips and squares. Hmmmmm.

So what am I putting on my Just 3 list for December.........

Finish the Orca Bay top, Bonnie's new mystery Easy Street is on step 2, and I am all caught up with it.

Get hubbies Grinch quilt quilted...........it is Christmas time.

Get the Christmas strings quilt quilted too, same reason.

Just 3 for November.........

Well didn't finish any again last month, surprised?? you shouldn't be. But I WILL get some done this month, because I have deadlines looming very closely so they have to be done. Last month I posted my Just 3 HERE well I am going to stick with the same for this month, because I have to!!! I did get the pretty pile of pink and purple all cut and half sewn, I did get the pink n orange one almost pieced together completely. I have the black, white, and red challenge blocks half done, they are due Thursday after work so I only have 5 more evenings to get them done, so I will be huffing it on those tonight for sure and every day till finished, and the Fair is the 17th, so the other 3 or 4 have to be done by then. Everything else..............well when I get to them.

Bought the tile for the other house today, all 1700 pounds of it. At least that is what the scale on the forklift said as the guy loaded it all in the back of the pickup. Then we had to unload it when we got it to the other house. At least we only had to lift it all ONCE. Whewwww. Well I am off to early vote, then go eat dinner, who knows, maybe get the bathroom tile done before coming home.

What have you been up to?? Any cool sewing projects? Any new QAL's? Are you doing Bonnies mystery quilt this year?, it is EASY STREET!

Fourth Qtr, and Just 3 for October..........

Wow, I can't believe it is already October, the final quarter of the year. I have been posting my Just 3 for at least 6 months now............and haven't managed to finish any of the "3" for any month so far this year. But then again, it has NOT been a normal year either. It is going to start getting back to normal though, really soon. Last week some major decisions have been made which will help everything go back to normal.  The biggest decision, we are NOT moving to UTAH. We are staying put in Florida. How do I feel about that, mixed emotions. But apparently it was meant to be, so makes me happier about the decision. The reason, dear hubby got a pay raise, and a promotion with another pay raise back to back. So now if we moved he would be taking a $12 an hour pay CUT..........Nope, not gonna happen! That is tooooo much money that I could use to buy fabric  to lose, I mean that is more than some people make in a year.  The other house finally has the kitchen installed, but we have taken a long break from doing anything else over there. The rest of the month doesn't look any better going over there either, we have other plans till the first weekend in November. Then we will get over there and bust butt to get it finished and on the market.
I actually did do a little sewing this weekend, not as much as I would have liked for it being a 3 day weekend. But I did do some, after I finally got the copies I needed done at the blueprint office today.

Ok my Just 3 list for October............I have a lot of deadlines coming up so I can't slack off any more on some of these.

1. get 3 quilts done for the guilds Christmas fair in mid November. That should count as my 3! There is probably going to be 4, but for now lets just say 3.

2. Finish the Quilt for Kids quilt and mail it back, the top was done the day after I got the kit........months ago! Need to find the binding.........ut oh.

3. Finish the quilt I just started for my dear hubby....he wants to take it with him in 2 weeks! LOL, LOL! The first set is half done, 7 more sets to go, plus the middle medallion and the back too. It will be a 2 sided quilt. I am not thinking this one will be done on time this year...But I will try. He has a lot of work he will be doing on the Jeep, so I will get sewing time.

ok now besides those three things, my list for the rest of the quarter include:

Get my wounded warriors quilt finished and sent off. Very sad this one is still not done. :(

Put the binding on the yellow monochromatic quilt...........still waiting!

OH another deadline one..........I think for the first week of November, our guild Black Red and White challenge swap blocks!! Oh My...............almost FORGOT! Need to move this one up to the top........

My Christmas strings quilt from the last swap we did, the top is almost done, needs one more border, then find a back and get it quilted and bound. Forgot to take a pic of it today....it does have a few borders on it since this one was taken.

Any of my other UFO's or WIP's.............that list is very long..............and listed at the very bottom of my blog if you want to see how crazy I am something to read for an hour or so, go take a look. I dare you. It will make you feel good about all yours, I promise!
Like this one...........hadn't touched in a while.
Or this pile that are awaiting to be quilted...........
Well since I had the day off today, and I will pay for it dearly at work tomorrow ( how many of you went to the Post Office today, and it was closed???) I had better get to bed since I didn't get much sleep all weekend long. Till the next post............

August Just 3

Wow, is July really over already??? Never even posted my Just 3 post for that month. WOW! So nothing to report, I know I didn't finish anything. I did start some new ones though, as usual.

Well this month, I am linking up with traceyjayquilts Just 3 for August:
1. get the QOV quilt quilted and mailed off. It is on the frame already.
2. Finish a challenge project I picked up at the guild meeting last month. So I can return it finished.
3. It has nothing to do with quilting, but get my other house painted and hopefully on the market to be sold. It will suck up most of my free time from sewing. But this is TOP PRIORITY right now. If this doesn't get done, I don't get to go to Utah, and I really, really, really want to move to Utah.

I haven't a clue what was on my list for June, and at 1am in the morning,  I am just too lazy to go look. June was a crazy month around here.

Just 3 for June

Well Last month I did get all 3 of my things done. Plus one from April! I also started a double wedding ring quilt for my daughters wedding which is on the 22nd of this month. I doubt I will have it finished, but it is a great thought, who knows. For June what do I want to make for my just 3............

1. Get as far as possible on the double wedding ring.

2. Finish a QOV for a co-worker whose son stepped on a bomb in Afghanstan last week and lost part of his leg, broke all the bones in the other leg. Broke both arms too. He should be in the air flying home to the US as I write this.

3. Get the carpet cleaners and a maid out to my house and get it spic n span spotless clean, so I don't have to do it before the wedding. :D ( I know that is cheating, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do )

Traveling Stash

This is a reminder I am giving away the Traveling Stash Saturday. You must go HERE and leave a comment to enter. I will draw a winner sometime Saturday before bed, and mail it out on Monday if I get the name and address by then. Good Luck.

By the way number two of my Just 3 for May is also now done. Onto April's now.

Just 3..........

Well the towels are done and in the mail. One done.

String swap blocks, are at least 80% done, I will finish them in the morning, probably before dear hubby even gets out of bed. Because I am off tomorrow. :D

Then I can work on the tables to see what is on them. Since it is only the 2nd of May, I will then work on the Just 3 from April that I hadn't even touched.

I am on a roll, it feels good to get some sleep and get some sewing done too.

Just 3 for May

Well I didn't get any of the 3 for April done.
But it was right after I did that post there were 6  other things that came up that were more important. Also working 70+ hours a week wasn't really on the agenda either. Now that all of that is behind me, I will move on to May.

To begin with, I am finishing my towels to mail them out.

I am finishing my strings to swap them out.

Clean off the sewing tables so I can find things again, because it looks like a tornado went through my room in the past month.

Then I can concentrate on the goals I made last month and get them done too.

Just 3

Yep that is all I have to do is Just 3. What am I talking about. Tracyjay is having a linky party.

You pick 3 goals you want to accomplish each month. So for April my 3 goals are:

1. Finish cutting my kaleidoscope one block wonder pieces out.

2. Cut out another part of the twister quilt and get them sewed back together. (I have one of 4 done so far.)

3. Finish my long arm practice piece that is on the frame, cut it up and then get all the new dog mats bound so they can be used. (first I need to find out out to change the needle that I broke yesterday :(  )

This is all do-able. It gives me something to do to. So on those days I get up there, and I am like..........uh, I don't know what I want to work on, or I don't know where to start. Here ya go. 3 things!!!
