This fun QAL has come to the end. This was the last week for the amazing blocks. I love how this quilt turned out. I have an idea for borders, I will start to put that into motion in the next few weeks, and try to get this one done. I even know how I am goign to quilt it already. That is usually a hold up on this end.
So here is this weeks block.......it is upside down in this pic! OH well.
Here is last weeks and this weeks sewn together............right side up. :D
The final quilt top....................ta da!
That's all for tonight Folks!

What a week...........
I finally got some sewing done today, lots of it too. I should have been doing other things, but after yesterday, (sanded all day long on the sheetrock mud) I didn't feel like it. Soooooooo, what did I accomplish today. For starters, trying to catch up on Kylie's mystery with my pink n orange:
Got all 40 of these done, didn't press them yet, cuz I am not sure which way I will want my seams to go yet.
All these parts are in waiting to be sewn for 5 of these stars.
I also did all 20 of these pieces in front, ready for assembly. Maybe tomorrow.
I also had to catch up on last weeks Tetris, with the last block coming out this coming Tuesday. So here it is. I am going to let the pieces roll over into the top border when I put the borders on, instead of cutting off the pieces.
Then since my table is full of smiley face pieces, I did 4 more great granny blocks with the smileys.
Also all over my table are turquoise strings, so I finally sewed a few of those today, I started with doing just 2. Then I said try for 5. Well I got 4 done, and that was enough of those for one day. These are for my Orca Bay quilt, that I am slowly working on. I did finish pressing all those hour glass blocks a while back, I think I have way more than I need, but that is ok. I will save the extras for a rainy day or use them on the back.
Last weekend I was on a cutting frenzy, here are some of the strips I cut. These are the 5 inch, and the 4 inch piles. That 5 inch pile is about 12 inches tall.
Here are my recycles milk jugs holding my 1.5, 2 & 2.5 inch strips, don't know if you can see it or not in the pic, but look at the jug on the left. Each one of those blue fabrics you can count, actually has 8-12 strips folded inside of it too. I need more jugs! Two colors of the rainbow down, many many more to go.
Awhile back I had mentioned de-boning blue jeans, and had about 143 more pairs to go. Some of you emailed me and asked how many pairs I really had left............well here is a pic of some of them piled as high as the fabric shelf. There is a third pile hidden by the design board, and more on the floor. Another HUGE box down in the laundry room too, because this shelf is full. So when I said 143 more pairs to go, I might be 1-5 pairs off..........in either direction! :D
I have started this purple charity quilt too, but all of a sudden by brain is scrambling the instructions, crapola. Need to look them up before I start slicing and dicing.
I stitched the first two together, but then when I went to cut it, I stopped........looking for the directions or youtube video as soon as I am done here.
I am not supervising at work right now, so I went back to working my old job. What a change, hadn't done this in almost a year. But I now have weekends off again, which is nice. Helps get the remodel finished. But then again I use to have Thursdays off, so it was hard to wake up and go to work this past Thursday. Also Thursday was my birthday,so it sucked that much more to go to work. I had plans for that day, and going to work wasn't part of them. I turned the big ol 44. Really? I am really 44?........doing math in my head. Crap, yes I am really 44. I don't feel like I am 44 now. Guild meeting was on Thursday so look what I got......
a fat quarter cupcake, calorie free too! It is bright pink, but the flash washed it out.
My husband had asked me last weekend what I wanted for my Bday, I told him the usual. (fabric) and these two books from Bonnie Hunter and I had also given him a hint the day before. He told me to go online and order my books and some fabric for my present, like I made him order his watch he wanted for his birthday and Father's Day too. So I ordered the books, I am still waiting on the them, and the fabric I finally ordered it today. Good thing I waited, I got bday emails with coupon codes!!! Well he also caught my hint. I got the Trilogy of the "Shades of Grey" books on my bday. Now to break open the plastic and start reading the so called smut filled books. Don't know how dirty they are, but I will let you know if you want to read them or not if your into reading good books.
Speaking of Shades of Grey, if you want to join in the Shades of Grey charm square swap, go HERE! There is still room to join on in.

Tetris Tuesday #4 (6days late)
Here is my Tetris block from last week, that I finally got around to sewing last night, and then forgot the camera up in my sewing room. I was too tired to go back up and get it.
and here are the first 4 weeks put together.
oh crapola.............looking at this pic there is a mistake in it. Guess me and Jack will have a meeting tomorrow to fix it! Do you see it???
Well after stitching that together last night I didn't feel like sewing anymore, I felt like cutting so I took a huge pile of fat quarters..........150ish that all had a 5inch circle cut from them, and hacked them all up into strips ALL of them totally! Man my wrist and neck hurt when I was done. Guess too much at one time. Didn't get any sleep last night my neck hurt so bad.

Tetris Tuesday number 3
Oh I was glad today was Tuesday, that gave me a really good reason to go sew after work. Even if I am exhausted. Worked 14 hours Saturday, Monday and 13 hours today. In the heat, the humidity, and the massive thunderstorms too. I am a stay indoors in the coolness kinda gal. I don't do heat too well. But that is ok, tomorrow is another day, probably a repeat too.
But today..............is Tuesday. Tetris Tuesday that is. What am I goin to do in 3 more weeks when there isn't anymore Tetris to piece???? OH my. Don't think about it. So I had two squares of orange that ran over from the first block that I needed to put in here. So I started there and filled up my chart, not a single open space, WOW!
After I had it all sewn together and went to put it on the board, I realized that there was suppose to be a red square in the bottom right from that block overflowing...............well too bad. I am not ripping out all those stitches and starting over, I will just have to change that red shape, and include them at the bottom of next weeks block instead. It is my quilt after all.
The mud man should be done at the remodel tomorrow or Thursday, he said we can start the sanding party this weekend, so that is what I will be doing, sanding and getting ready to paint and hopefully fly down hill with this remodel and get it on the market and sold ASAP!
Oh and Sit-n-Stitch is at my house this Thursday evening, so all my ladies from the night crew in the quilt guild will be heading this way. Boxes and all. So I will have to do some cleaning up keep tomorrow after work, and I am off on Thursdays still for now, so I will be cleaning and cooking on Thursday. :D
I have gotten quite a few more smiley blocks done, got a Wounded soldier quilt on the frame, need to get it quilted and mailed off. It has been sitting around for two months now, wow, has it really been that long. Time is flying by and I am missing it.

Tetris Tuesday week 2
Well it is that day of the week again, Tetris Tuesday! These blocks are so fun to make. My daughter came into my sewing room, and said hey that looks like the game Tetris. I told her good thing, because that is exactly what it is suppose to look like, she replied "Really?????" :D Here is block 2
And here are the two weeks sewn together side by side. This quilt is so colorful and cheery looking. Now i have to wait 7 more days, this is the worst part of the whole QAL, the waiting.
Then I made a few more granny squares, but used a different fabric. I was trying to decide on whice block I like better, but I think I might just make them both, and mix them up on the quilt. At the guild meeting I grab a challenge bundle and mine had the 2 yards of fabric and some poly batting, this is the quilt I am making for that challenge. should be able to whip it up before the next meeting.
Well this poor whipped soul is going to bed. Me and my boss had to deliver bunches of mail today, by the time I got back to the office, we were both soaked. I came home ate lunch (late) took another shower, changed clothes, and went back to work. That shower felt sooooo good. My butt is dragging now though. Off to bed I go. More sewing tomorrow. It will come to a standstill next week.

SewSewSewSewSew, hmmmmmmmmmmm
Do you hear the humming of the machine going full speed? I have been working it overtime lately. Probably because I am more or less done purging up there, and just need to move the stuff out that doesn't need to be up there. Plus I have so many projects going, I am just keeping them all moving forward so none of them end up in the huge UFO pile. I am slowly pecking away at that too. Main reason is I don't want to lose any pieces if and wen I have to pack up the sewing studio, so I am trying to sew them all together, quickly.
Let's see what I have been up to.
My pink n orange mystery one with Kylie, step 4 was out when I got home from work on Monday, so whipped that step out within an hour.
Then I woke up hour and half early today (Tuesday) (Hershey's fault as usual) so I decided to sew instead of fighting with the alarm clock an hour and a half from now. I stitched, cut, pressed all 100 HST's for the Ugly Fabric quilt challenge. I also cut out all the strips needed for these blocks, and the center squares too. . Then after work I finished the rest of all the flying geese for this quilt too. Now they are ready to be put into blocks, wow this quilt is flying along. (no pun intended). So now I have all the pieces except the corners cut.
This is the first block laid out, ready for sewing ( well, after I trim the geese).
The blocks share the geese as sashing......this should be together in no time. Well except for I hate trimming little bits off, and when I printed the instructions for the geese, they were the wrongs ones, so now all the geese need to be trimmed, urgh.
Then I was ready to go to bed, because I was tired when I came home from it being a nice and gorgeous rainy day. But didn't want to go to bed that early. Then I was trying to figure out what day it was.....Oh yeah, it is Tuesday, Tetris Tuesday to be exact.............OH< OH< OH.....Tetris Tuesday. Off I go to get the instructions for Step 1 for the Tetris quilt a long
and off I went back to the sewing room, and Ta-Da, 30 some minutes later I have step 1 done.
This quilt is going to look so cool when it is done. :D
Wow all this in just two days. Think how much I could get done if i didn't work 50+ hours a week too!!!
Well I think I will go to bed now, before I start purging and packing something. Morning comes a bit early, too early for me lately. What have you been sewing on lately???

3rd qtr pre linky post
For the Finish A Long, this is my 3rd quarter pre linky post. As I didn't finish anything last quarter that was on my list, here goes this months list. First off, lets see what was on last month.........
So I haven't finished my yellow one yet, still need the binding on it.
I haven't even touched the Turtle Bay one.
The snowman one still is sitting in the chair where it was a month ago.
You can see those three in last qtr's post HERE!
I received in the mail this week the quilt kit for the Quilt for Kids foundation ( go there then click the volunteer button on the bottom left). I HAVE to finish that one and mail it back, so this may be the only thing on this whole list I finish. But it is the most important too. These are the fabrics they sent some 6.5" sq, 3.5" strips to sew together and subcut the sew into 4-patches, an inner border, and outer border and backing fabric too. I have to provide batting, and I should have backing fabric leftover for binding it. Bright colors for sure, right up my alley.
I am adding to the list my Ugly Fabric Quilt challenge that I am still sewing flying geese for, lots and lots of geese. Then I have to start making the other blocks to go in it as well.
I am starting a Tetris QAL, so I hope to have it finished by the end of this quarter. Just got all my charm swap squares back in the mail.
I am also doing a QAL on FB with Kylie, I hope to have that one finished by the end of the quarter too. Clue 4 goes out this weekend. I don't know how many clues there are. This is a pic of clue 3 in waiting.
I am cruising along with the Orca Bay, I doubt I will have it done, but I am putting it on my list anyway. Haven't started the bigger string blocks yet, and I am still pressing all those small hour glass blacks, urgh.
Oh and I am going to start the Great Granny Square QAL too. Hadn't even cut the fabrics yet, we will see. Trying to decide which set of fabrics I want to use, or both. I am a glutton for punishment.
I sure do seem to think I am going to get a lot done don't I??? Probably none of it since hubby goes back to day shift in 2 weeks, and we will be working on the other house every evening after work to get it done. That does have it's priority, but I will still have to have MY sewing time to keep my sanity.
