RSC purple saturday

I haven't done too much with my purple scraps, one because I haven't done much sewing at all so far this month. Also I cleared off the table to do bindings. Did the two earlier this week and number 3 is almost done, will probably finish it after I write this, while waiting for dinner to finish. Then it is off to a friends for game night. All I did manage to get done before I cleared my table was the 4 crossroads blocks, and they were done 2 weeks ago. Just didn't get a post wrote before helping our friend out for Mardi Gras the past two weekends. Here they are pinned on the board on top of the pink ones.
I am linking up to Angela's for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, and now I am off to finish me another binding!

Scrap Happy Saturday pink overview & FNSI

I am in the pink, that is for sure.

I whipped up 2 more for Crossroads.

I have a bunch more 4 patches made. I have been turning those 4 patches into these blocks.

I have done these cool swirlygig pinwheel looking ones too. I like this block, quick and simple too.

Using different sizes, I made up a bunch of these 9 patches with neutral in the centers. They will make 2 totally different quilts. To make sure they really look different that is why I chose to use 2 different sizes too.

This is a pic of the entire design wall, it is really PINK! These are the pieces to 6 of the quilts I am making in this challenge. Not all the quilts will have all the colors in them though.
Not everything is up here yet, still have a bunch sitting at the machine waiting to be fed through the feed dogs.
Still have the last 3 swirlygig blocks, for a total of 5 and all these 4 patch bowties too. Notice the bowties went to the floor on the board.
Friday night it was spent sewing the last of the 4 patches, and working on 4-patch bow tie blocks I think I managed to finish another 12 more after all those 4 patch pieces. Then I cut out the rest of those swirlygig ones and called it a night. This week has wore me out. I might have some 4 patches leftover when I am done, I am not sure but we will see.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also started to do a paper piecing block.............well I did say started, and not finished.
Do you see where that ripper is pointing?????? There is NO fabric right there...........urgh! That was as far as I went.

I am linking up with Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Also with FNSI at Heidi's.
What have you been up to???

Scrap Happy Saturday - Pink

I did get a little bit done last Sunday, but haven't seen the sewing room since. I managed to sew these two blocks together, very quickly I might add. I will make more of these, I just tried two to start with to see if I liked them. I found the tutorial on Threadbias they call it Crossroads.
Then I got all these strips sewn together. They are stacked up in piles. Now to match them, subcut them and resew into 4 patches and/or 9 patch blocks.
Things at the Post Office are changing faster than anyone can keep up. All the people with knowledge are being let go, retiring or being moved somewhere else, and then the plan is to hire a bunch of part timers with no benefits whatsovever. I have been there for 19 years, and I know everything about the place, so I am being pulled in 20 directions at once. They had me working 10 hours everyday this week (even though I am NOT on the OT list) Trying to run two different PO's. I slept last night for 12 hours, I was exhausted. Good news though the one PO I was at, Kathy is finally retiring, and that job is coming open. I have been waiting for this day for 19 years now. I am hoping I get that job. I will be working at the PO on the Air Force base, better class of people, and no co-workers to clean up after and do half their jobs on a daily basis. It will be me, and only me!!! Also on slow days I will have down time, I will be able to take my breaks ( more downtime) and I won't be able to go home for lunch anymore (more downtime) So now I guess I am going to have to find me some hand work to do, or prep my DJ's for machine, hand stitch those that need it. I will have LOTS of time to do this now. They are even building a new PO, so once I move, I will probably even take an extra machine there, and park it in the corner for break and lunchtimes. So now I need to find time to do some prepping!!! Looking forward to it until retirement!
For all you hand workers out there (Angela, Judy) any pointers for me on needles, thread etc for handwork???

Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2013

Do your scraps over whelm you? Do you have a lot of them laying around and you don't know what to do with them? Well come and join Angela in her Rainbow Scrap Challenge for 2013. Each month she picks a color, and you use your scraps of that color to make blocks or what ever out of. Then at the end of the year you have a rainbow quilt you can put together and your scraps are under control. January's color has been chosen, she chose PINK!!!!

So Grab your PINK and lets get started. I will be doing a few things, I think. The main project I will be working on is a Rainbow Dear Jane, like this one. But I moved the rows around and added pink to mine too.

Other projects I might start on:
