Finally made it to the sewing room, found Merlin too. He was crashed out on the quilt top that was on the ironing board waiting to be ironed. He is sooo smart! By the time I went and got the camera that I found earlier today, and started back up the 2 flights of stairs, he was already at the bottom following me. Here is a pic of the top I did finish putting the blocks together in February. I still need to put a small border of brown on it, to finish the edges, then it will go in the waiting-to-be-quilted pile.
It is nice and big for the king size bed too. Hangs down almost to the bottom of the side rails. I am tired of too little quilts on the bed. Then I went back upstairs to bind a quilt that has been at the quilters forever, forgot it was even there! When I came back down to take photos of that one, look what I saw... Little Ms Delilah all stretched out taking a nap! With her bare belly showing and everything.
It wasn't long and Merlin came to join her, as always.........
I should have laid down right then and took a nap with them. I feel like I needed it now.
I will show you the other quilt in a day or so, I want to get permission from the pattern designer first.
I spent a lot of time cleaning and trying to get this house back in order. With all the computer problems ( they are not over either, even with the new one urgh!) and acquiring two new to us desks for the office, it looked like a tornado went thru this place. Paperwork and books everywhere!!!! Guess that is what happens when everything comes out of your office at once. I have half the dining room table cleaned off, and some of the chairs. You can see the floor again, and the filing cabinet is getting full. Almost burnt up the shredder so I started putting it all in a box, and I take it to work on Saturday and use the big industrial one there instead now.

Do you look around?
When your reading your favorite blogs, do you just read what they wrote, maybe or maybe not reply and move on to another blog? or do you look around their blog to see what they have on there usually down the sides. Usually there are lots of buttons too. Did you know that most of those buttons are clickable? Did you notice I added a lot of new buttons on the right hand side of my blog.......a lot more Quilt A Longs???? All the other buttons have been moved to the very bottom of my blog, and they are all still clickable as far as I know.
Right now I have 9, yes that is NINE QAL's listed on my side bar. Now mind you, I put them there if they sound good.......sometimes I never get to them, or don't have the time for them. But they are there if you want to click and go to them. I also move them around sometimes too. But right now I have....
Christmas is coming so I have a...................
Then there is a free BOM ............
and then
I love stars so there is this one...........
Myra has hers going full swing, there is time you can catch up..........(ps I haven't started yet) changing my mind on fabrics.
This one I am almost done with, so this button will be going to the bottom soon........
I have always wanted to make one of these so why not............
and then the last one for now is the..........
So while you are browsing your friends blogs, stop for a moment, even if you follow over 400 blogs like I do, and look around a bit. You might find something you were looking for. You might find another great blog and end up meeting your next best friend that way. Or you could get yourself way over your head buried in projects too. But you will have fun any way it comes out. If you find anymore cool quilt alongs, that I don't have listed, drop me a line. I am a sucker for quilt alongs!!!!! It is the best way to get rid of your scraps and stash too, let someone else tell you what to do with them :D
I didn't make any of the buttons in this post clickable, but they are on the right and they will go to the beginning page of that said quilt along. Some of them are almost over, others haven't started yet. Have fun!! You only have 81 days left till Christmas, get sewing!!!

Super sewing sunday 09-11-11
Had a wonderful week of sewing and getting things done. First off I took these two piles,
and stitched them all together to make these........
I have 2 more piles to go, then I can sew them together to make a top.
Then I did a few of these.......
Oh I am getting soooooooooooo close to being able to sew this top together. Can't wait to get this one off the table. :D
Then I pulled some blocks off the design board and started sewing the pieces together to make the blocks. I no sooner put the 2 piles on the table, and Jethro came out of no where and took his spot. These stitch up very quickly. Hoping to have the whole top done by the end of the week. I did 2 sections out of 5.
Then I grabbed my Block A Palooza blocks and stitched them together awaiting me to finished stitching down the flower garden center so I can attach these around the flower garden part. 6 more blocks are hanging off the table that you cant see.
I also quilted half of my snowman quilt, forgot to take a photo. Trying to figure out what to quilt in the rest of the areas. I also reswed a binding back onto a blanket ( it isn't a quilt) that came undone two years ago. So now that is off the bench.....I almost cleared the bench off. Almost. I have just been cruising right along with all my projects this week. Gotta keep it all mixed up though so I don't get bored and burnt out on one project. Since a lot of them are all at the almost done stage, I should have a very exciting week coming soon when they all hit the top is finished stage!!!
I also found me a black and decker stowaway iron at the goodwill for $2.99 yesterday. Works great too!!! Now I can throw those other two pieces of junk in the trash.
Well I had 5 more hours I could have spent sewing today, but since the humidity was coming back last night, and hubby felt like a furnance, and the dogs wanted to bark non stop all night long, I didn't get much sleep so I am going to watch TV and be ready for bed really soon. I also start working at a different building tomorrow from where I had been the past 5.5 years. I am really looking forward to it for now, I needed a change in pace. Plus I have a few really good coworkers down there too.

Super Sewing Sunday 09-04-11
Well it is Labor day weekend so that means I also have tomorrow off of work, YIPPEEEEE! Not sure what we will be doing tomorrow, but it has been raining her non stop for the past 36 hours due to whatshisname tropical storm.
Do you want to see what I have accomplished since last week? Of course you do, otherwise you wouldn't be here right! Oh I am so proud of myself.
First off check out this lovely piece of fabric I picked up yesterday to make me a new nightie. It is black with silver and turquoise butterflies all over it, and it even has little silver shiny things all over it too. It is a slinky satin type of fabric so soft and flowing. Going to use my favorite nightie for the pattern, it is starting to get ragged, and I have fixed it more times than I can count.
Ok I was working on the Garden Fence QAL, this is all that is leftover from 33 fat quarters.
I finished the last 2 stacks, the last 36 blocks. Now onto the design wall we go..........I have all the centers pinned on the board. The straight ones there are 3 each, and the on point ones there are 6 each. Except the top left there is only 1. Now to get the side pieces arranged so I can match them all up.
Here they all are.....
Now lets start pinning and matching, 100 blocks, with no duplicate matches. I know I can do it. Even though there are 19 polka dot middles. Whew, all done, now I will have to have a chain piecing marathon to put them all together.
But right now something else is calling my name. Sunkissed that I used for the Black A Palooza QAL.
I counted up my blocks, seen that I still needed to sew 2 more blocks, so I had to go through and find out which 2 I was still missing. Found them and got them pieced, finally!
So now that those are done, I can move onto the center part..........the flower garden. I haven't been able to do this because I needed some more of the GO! dies. Well I have all of them now, gotta love Mother's Day, & Birthdays too! Also finally found a silver permanent marker so I could mark the dies, and see where I was going to be cutting.
And now away we GO!..........What is that I hear, I hear snoring........what?? Look what I found under the cutting table!
on top of the cutting table are these two............surprise?! NOPE! They are always there, somewhere!
Oh on the otherside of the room is Riley...
Had to go look for Ressie, she wasn't at the top of the stairs where she normally is. Seems they pulled all the blankets out of the box my daughter had stashed up there, they are not stupid that is for sure!!! Reesie made herself COMFY too.
Oh yeah.............and away we GO!..............got so busy making this, I forgot to take pics as I went along, so here is the center of the BAP quilt, my Sunkissed Flower Garden.
It will measure 24X48 when it is in the center of the quilt. Big smile on my face, it is done. Well I still have to stitch it all down. and boy what a mess I made too. I guess I will clean this up next time I go up in my room.
It was nice listening to the rain all day long today while getting all this done. I am pooped today, and ready for bed. I have a lot to do this week, so I hope I have more mojo than I had this past week, because I just couldn't get with it, till today.

Super Sewing Sunday 08-28-11
I didn't get too much sewing done today, that could be because I am a little sore from using a jack hammer the past two days. Even though it wasn't long, and it was the little jack hammer drill, it makes your whole body hurt, and your hands too! Plus I mowed the yards in extreme heat conditions today too.
Right now I am working on the Garden Fence QAL. I had to wait because I didn't have the fabric I needed for the sashing. DD #1 bought it for me for my birthday, and she finally gave it to me last Saturday, not yesterday. (DD #2 bought me 2 flower GO! dies I needed :D) So I slowly starting cutting the pieces out this week, here are the first two sets waiting to go...........
Here is the first set all chained pieced and waiting to be pressed.
Second set is waiting it's turn........
Here is the first set done, just hanging around waiting for them all to be done so they can be paired up and finished.
Ok here are the first 3 sets all piled and waiting....................
I counted how many blocks I had...........I need a total of 100 and I knew I didn't have that many cut so far. So back to the cutting table I go. Here are the last 2 sets, I just don't have it in me to keep sewing the same thing over and over........that boredom thing is kicking in!
This last picture is a few of the fabrics on the design wall before I cut the last two sets. I was checking for light/dark values to see if I had more of one than the other, especially the darks since I was using chocolate for the sashing. I believe there are 23 different fabrics in this quilt including the sashing.
Hopefully I will finish the last two sets tomorrow. So then I can start pairing them all up and try not to duplicate any blocks. There will be 3 of the same fabric centers for blocks for 9 of the fabrics and 6 of the same fabric centers for blocks using the other 12 fabrics and there is one fabric there is only enough fabric for 1, and I got that out of the scrap basket. The same for the outer rings, and I want to make sure I don't pair any with the same ones. Plus there is 4 or 5 with polka dots, a few with swirls, and I want them all mixed up. Shouldn't be too hard, but I also want to keep the value even too. Hopefully I will have the top done next week when I do my weekly report.
Are you working on anything exciting right now??? I am also going to finish the last 2 blocks of BAP this upcoming week (thought they were all done) so I can start playing with the GO! and the flower garden I am putting in the middle of it!!!!!

Happy Birthday to meeeeee!!!
Oh yeah, it is my birthday, but they aren't all that big of a deal around here most of the time. Got up and went to work as usual. Well actually didn't get to sleep till about 1am, and I was back up again at 5am.......I went and sewed till after 8am, then I got ready and went to work. As soon as I got to work the power went out, and stayed out for more than 2 hours. We had flashlights trying to find peoples mail. The girls I work with brought in a veggie tray, and fruit tray, chip, salsa, bean dip and a cake too. Took me 20 minutes before I even noticed it sitting there. Opened up the veggies and fruit since it was really dark and told everyone to come try the surprise buffet, it was a surprise because when you reached out and grabbed a piece of food to eat it, you didn't know if you were eating a grape, or a grape tomato!!!! I didn't even get to eat any cake till 4:30pm we got so busy later in the day. When I went home for lunch dear hubby and I went to the Pizza Hut buffet for lunch since he is working swing shift still. Then when I got home from work the oldest daughters boyfriend took us all out to dinner. Went and got mexican, and have enough leftover for dear hubby and me for lunch tomorrow too!!!! All in all it has been a great day, now I am going to do more sewing. Almost done with my Rockin Row Robin top, deadline is Monday, so I am trying to get it finished today or tomorrow.
Yesterday I had a Manic Madness Monday sewing session. First off let me tell ya something else. You know those sci fi movies where machines come to life and have a mind of their own??? Well for years I have said that is how my sewing machines are.....when I am too tired to be sewing and to stubborn to go to bed, my machines will purposely do thread lockups so I quit and go to bed, only to come back the next day and do nothing but turn on the machine and push the foot peddle and it works perfectly, even though you never fixed the problem. Well Sunday was one of those nights........both machines did that too me. I guess they were tired after an 11 hour sewing marathon. But yesterday, turned it on, and pushed the peddle and it purred! Sweeettttt!!! So, I had a Manic Madness Monday sewing session!!!
I finished ALL the rest of the HST's!! They are all sewed into 4 rows of 5, waiting to be attached to the 29 blocks, so I can assemble RRCB!! Yippeeeee, it is almost finished. Then I finished 2 rows on the Rockin Row Robin too. Started doing hexies.......not the little itty bitty hand stitched ones, bigger 6 inch pieced ones all done by machine. I need them for my RRR, and the Hexalong too!
I would post pics of all this, but the camera is on the 3rd floor in my sewing room. So I will have to post all the pics either tomorrow, or Sunday when I do my weekly update post as usual.
Alright my daughter told me she got me some solid brown for my Garden Fence QAL, so I need to go check out my prezzy, not sure if I want it brown or white. She bought all they had, and left it on the bolt, in case it isn't right, and I want to exchange it. Cool!!! I know the other daughter bought me GO! dies, the other flowers, so I can finish my BAP quilt, that is waiting on the flower garden I am adding to it. Well off to my other world, stayed tuned for more pics!

Super Sewing Sunday 08-07-11
Well I got quite a bit done today, and even quit 4 hours earlier than normal. Was at a point of boredom, or not knowing what to do next that I wanted to do. So I know it is best to quit at that point before you lose the MOJO. First I spent a couple hours making a back for another secret project quilt I made last week. Here is a sneak peek..........................
Sorry that is all I can show you for now.
Then I got these 100 HST's pressed open. Chainstitched together in rows of 5, and now there are enough to sew them onto 5 of the 29 blocks I have yet to finish so I can start piecing together RRCB. Remember I want the top done before my birthday is here, and I am running out of time. If I do this each day this week. Then next Sunday I can spend the whole day piecing it together, and just in time too! Keeping the fingers crossed. I want this one off my ironing board, and my tablessssss. Then it can sit in the pile to be quilted.
I am thinking I might use this bunch of fabric to do my Garden Fence QAL. Will think a little more on that subject. PS See Jethro stretched out in the background.
Here is a closer view, of him hanging over the little scrap basket he is sitting in, with his arm all stretched out, like usual.
Just as I was about to turn out the light, here comes Ely Mae to start cleaning Jethro.....silly cats.
Normally during the week, I sew Mon, Tues, & Wed evenings. But this past week, I only did some sewing on Monday. I worked on the Rockin Row Robin. Here are all my fabrics cut out, stacked assembly line style next to the machine.
Here they are layed out on the floor.
and here from the other end. There is no background fabric on these, didn't think about that till after it was all done. Oh well that is ok. Still have 3 more rows to do. Using scraps, takes along time to cut out all the pieces you need for a row. I will work more on these 3 rows again during this week as well.
I also have 20 shirts to embroider this week. I keep putting it off, and I need to just do it and be done with it. So I can give my friend his work shirts back to him.
The Happy Quilting Stars QAL starts tomorrow. Are you going to QAL too????

Garden Fence Quilt Along anyone???
Found another quilt along if your interested.............
Over at McIntyreGirl she is hosting a Garden Fence Quilt Along. I am checking into this one, this might be the quilt for a stack of fabric that has been sitting there waiting for the right pattern to turn it into a quilt. Can you tell I love QAL's???? Do you do QAL?? Why? Why not?? I would love to hear what you have to say about these. Have a wonderful weekend, and watch for my report on Sunday.
